An Update on Applications for Scholarships to MA Degree in Heritage at Newcastle University, UK.
Following CHDA’s announcement requesting applications for scholarships to the above programme, forty applications were received by the deadline of 16:00 Hr. East African time. Many more were received after the deadline, but were rejected. We appreciate the interest shown in our programs through these applications, and wish all applicants luck in their endeavor to pursue further studies.

Cultural heritage resource in Hainan, China
The En-Compass Program is a partnership of Newcastle University, UK; Hainan Provincial International Cultural Exchange Centre (HPICEC), Hainan Province, China; the Iwokrama International Centre for Rainforest Conservation and Development (ICC), Guyana and CHDA, representing Africa. Funded by the European Union, three places have been secured for African heritage professionals to undertake any of the following courses:
- MA in Heritage Management
- MA in Heritage Education and Interpretation
- MA in Museum Studies
The course shall begin in September 2012 and run for one year. To enables processing of entry VISAs, taking of English language tests, e.t.c, we are working to complete the selection process by end of March 2012.
An independent panel of experts from around the continent will, in the next three weeks or so, review and evaluate the applications for shortlisting and selection of the three most qualified applicants from the forty applications. These names shall then be forwarded to the Newcastle University for admission.
