It is now 3 weeks since the official closing of the Africa 2009 programme at the 11th Directors seminar, hosted by CHDA in Mombasa, took place. CHDA would like to pay tribute to those whose support, financially and otherwise contributed greatly to the success of the programme.

Africa 2009 was a PARTNERSHIP between African heritage institutions and other international partners. We cannot but salute the vision and leadership of the heads of these institutions, whose continuous support and willingness to open up their institutions to the Programme’s activities was instrumental to its success.
We salute the Africa 2009 network, a vibrant network of over 2,000 members which works in many ways to uphold the conservation and sustainable management of African heritage.
We are immensely grateful for the cooperation of all the local communities within whose domain the Programme’s activities have been implemented.
