CHDA Board Meeting

INAUGURAL BOARD MEETING OF CHDA

9 – 11 February 2010

It was an exciting week for CHDA as it hosted the very first meeting of its newly constituted Board. After an absence of 5 years, CHDA is pleased to announce that a new Board has been constituted with very firm commitments to ensuring that the institution is sustained. In a three day meeting which included a serious strategic planning process facilitated by international heritage expert Dr George Abungu of Okello Abungu Consulting, the Board pledged its support to the new Director of CHDA and the CHDA team. An exhibition celebrating the 10 years of CHDA’s achievements was put on display as a part of the orientation of the new Board to its successes.

The new Board members are;

  • Dr Idle Farah  -  Director General of the National Museums of Kenya
  • Dr Mounier Bouchenaki  -  Director General of ICCROM
  • Dr Webber Ndoro  -  Director of the African World Heritage Fund
  • Lazare Eloundou  -  Chief of the Africa Desk, World Heritage Centre
  • Alain Godonou  -  Chief of the Movable and Intangible Cultural Heritage Desk, UNESCO
  • Professor Mutoro  -  Principal, School of Education and External Studies, University of Nairobi
  • Dr Solange Macamo  -  Deputy Director Heritage, Mocambique
  • Jalal Balala  -  Private Sector
  • Victoire Adegbidi  -  Representative of the EPA Director


Two positions remain open; that of a community leadership representative from Mombasa and the second Director of Heritage from the continent.
